Philanthropy
WHO WE ARE
College-aged women experience the highest rate of domestic violence, and so who better to fight for the rights and voices of survivors than the real strong women of Alpha Chi Omega? Our national organization is the front-runner for the largest NPC campaign to date, having raised over $10.25 million in the past two years for the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. This starts with the efforts of every passionate individual, sister, and community member to show their support and take a step in the right direction. Together we can break the silence, end the violence, and help guarantee every real strong woman's right to a healthy, loving relationship.
WHO WE SUPPORT
Our chapter holds one large philanthropic event each quarter, with all proceeds benefiting our philanthropic causes at the national and local level. Locally, we support Empower Yolo, an organization dedicated to promoting safe, healthy, and resilient communities by supporting survivors and their families. This past year alone, we raised over $10,000 to give back to our community. We annually hold AXO Runway during Fall Quarter, and different events in Winter and Spring. We support events like Healthy Relationships Week and Domestic Violence Awareness Month on campus. Our sisters are often taking their efforts one step further, participating in volunteer work all over Davis.
HOW WE SUPPORT
Our biggest philanthrophy event, AXO Runway, invites other greek life organizations to create outfits out of recycled materials and compete by walking the runway in support of domestic violence awareness and healthy relationships. We also held our first annual Mr. AXO Pageant in the Spring where we encouraged fraternities and UCDavis Athletics teams to nominate a member who then competed in various events leading up to our pageant where they answered questions about domestic violence and healthy relantioships, performed in a lip sync and then talent segment to win the title of Mr. AXO.
